A New Year. A New Journey.

Here we are at the beginning of a new year. We have a brand new year ahead of us. We all are curious  to see what 2015 holds in store! Happy, sad, exciting, discouraging, etc. I have been thinking of what I want 2015 to look like. Now I can't control what happens but I can control on how I respond. Do I want to remember this year me being irritated and frustrated all the time? Or would I rather remember me being joyful and thankful all the time? The more my response is like that to situations to where I should be irritated and frustrated than those around me will question why am I joyful and thankful when I went through such a hard experience? Well, in the Bible God commands me to be joyful and thankful all the time. "Rejoice evermore." "In everything give thanks..." 1 Thess. 5:16 &18

I want those around me to see Jesus in me. In my action, words, and spirit. This year I strongly desire to be bold in my faith. "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him." Ephesians 3:12 KJV. To shine God's light with boldness and confidence. To not be scared to stand up for the One who died on the cross to save me. I want to proclaim the Gospel to those God puts in my path. "Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him." Acts 28:31

We all are on a journey. We all are on different paths. Here is just one question to ask yourself,"What is the reason for waking up each day?" Is it to enjoy myself? To make money? To work? Now none of those things are bad in themselves. But those things will pass away. Are you storing up treasure in heaven and not on earth? Living the Christian life isn't the easiest but it sure is the most satisfying and amazing life. We will only find our true satisfaction in Jesus. Period. So I just encourage you to live your life each day glorifying God in every way. For that is the reason why God put us here on earth.
"O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth. Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among people. For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods." Psalms 96:1-4

The Presence of God in the Home

God is always present. He is Jehovah Shammah (The Lord is There). In our home I want reminders that God is always in our presence. So that no matter what we are going through I will see the reminders and remember that God is here with us.

This is one of my favorite things in our home. The lights reminds me that Christ is the Light of the World and
if we are in Christ then we too can have His Light in us. God calls us the Children of the Light. To be bright lights in this dark world we live in.
The word JOY. I just love that word. People are drawn to those who are happy and joyful. The word JOY  is used about 214 times in the NIV. When I see the word JOY everyday I'm reminded that I can have JOY no matter the circumstances. God never said that we should only be joyful whenever everything in our life is going smoothly. He said in 1 Thessalonians 5:16, "Rejoice evermore". That means all the time! Wow! He didn't ask me to rejoice. He commanded me to rejoice. And when I'm IN CHRIST I can rejoice evermore. :

1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing." At the beginning of our relationship we made sure that prayer
was a part of it. God wants us to communicate with Him daily! We believe prayer is very important to a
Christian's life.
.
This reminds me my wonderful God-centered marriage and how grateful I am to have such an amazing God
fearing man. Only God could have brought us together. You can see His Hand all through out it! It is truly a God written love story.

This picture is right by our front door. Whenever I walk in I am reminded how God has blessed us
with so many things! He has always provided for us and He is continually doing so. My husband and I are
amazingly blessed people. Just how God provided our home for us is unbelievable.
This picture hangs right above our keurig. We are big coffee drinkers so we see this every single morning.
Why this verse to see every morning? Well our desire is to be like Christ. That others may see Christ in us.
We can't be exactly like Christ because we are fleshly human beings. But God desires us to strive to be like
Christ. And this verse reminds me to ask Him to help me be like Jesus.
To respond to my husband in a Christ like manner. A question I try to ask myself each morning,
"What can I do to show Jesus to those I will interact act with today?"
